History: For the most part, Twilight’s history is the same as her modern one, all the way up to before “A Canterlot Wedding”. The changes begin when, on her way back from visiting Zecora, Twilight ended up picking up a mysterious message and went to investigate. She, instead, discovered a wounded ferret wearing a red jeweled pendant. She dropped off the ferret into Fluttershy’s care, then went to investigate the jewel, realizing there was something magical about it. Unfortunately, she wouldn’t get that far when a mysterious beast began attacking Fluttershy’s home. Through this, Twilight would end up learning the mysterious caller was the ferret and the jewel, Raising Heart, was a magical device. Twilight used the device to defeat and seal the beast, though she ended up getting the attention of the rest of Ponyville.

The morning after saw Twilight learning of the ferret’s name - Yuuno Scrya - and the reason he was here - to recover items known as Jewel Seeds, which fell to Equestria after an ambush. At Celestia’s command, Twilight and the Mane Six were ordered to hunt down the Jewel Seeds before they caused any more damage. With the extra help, Twilight was able to handle things quite well. However, things wouldn’t go so smoothly when a mysterious blonde-haired filly arrived. Cold and emotionalless, the filly, Fate Testarossa, spurrned Twilight’s attempts at friendship and did everything she could to get the Jewel Seeds herself, even threatening to kill Fluttershy. However, things changed greatly when Fate’s Familiar, the wolf-girl Arf, brought her to Zecora after Fate’s mother, Presea, viciously attacked her for her “failure”. The confrontation between Twilight, Yuuno, Arf and Zecora came to an end when Chrono Harloawn, an Enforcer for the Time-Space Administration Bearau, intervened and brought the five onboard the Dimensional Ship Arthra. There, Chrono attempted to relieve Twilight of her mission, only for her to call his bluff. It was also here that Twilight would learn of some of Fate’s past and that Presea abused Fate. In the process, Fate escaped custody, though left Arf as she felt she had betrayed her. When Applejack learned Fate was staying in the Cutie Mark Crusaders’ clubhouse, Twilight and the others confronted her and, in desperation, Fate attempted to escape, leaving behind her Device, Bardiche, and hiding in the Everfree Forest, where she’d be rescued by Princess Luna.

An attempt at training through Chrono and a meeting between TSAB Commander Lindy Harloawn and Princess Celestia found itself interrupted by the arrival of another beast created by the Jewel Seeds. It was here that Twilight learned of their true nature and scolded Chrono for holding back that bit of information. After Arf’s disastrous attempt at stopping Presea, Twilight learned more of Fate, that she wasn’t a naturally born person, but an Artificial Mage - a clone. Even more, they’ve come to realize that Presea was seeking to go to a mythical place called Al-Hazard, presumably to revive Fate’s template, Presea’s dead daughter Alicia. The next morning, Twilight had learned that the princesses had possession of Fate and, upon taking custody of her, introduced her to the rest of the Mane Six. Surprisingly, Fate was a lot more apologetic and regretful to the six, her early aggressive actions disappearing after Celestia forced a psychotic break of sorts on her. Even surprising to the filly, the six accepted her as one of their own.

Soon, those aboard the Arthra discovered the remaining Jewel Seeds and sent the ponies, along with Chrono, Yuuna and Fate, to retrieve them. Twilight and Fate’s talk of perhaps the young filly wanting to stay in Equestria was cut short when Presea arrived, ready to finish the original mission. However, Fate would not cow before her mother, leading to the older woman to use the Jewel Seeds in the location to create a second, humanoid Fate to attack Twilight. With Bardiche’s rebellion aiding, Twilight was able to overwhelm the clone with her “trump card”, the Starlight Breaker. However, Presea escaped with the Jewel Seeds, her weakened state turning her into a pony herself.

With Presea’s base, the Garden of Time, discovered, the TSAB and the Mane Six boarded the satellite in order to stop Presea’s attempt to use the Jewel Seeds. While the agents stopped the satellite itself, the ponies confronted Presea herself. Despite Fate’s last-ditch attempt to stop Presea, the madwoman refused and attempted to use the Jewel Seeds. In desperation, the Mane Six used the Elements of Harmony, given to them by Luna, to stop Presea. It worked… a little too well. Her body and mind were repaired, but, overwhelmed by the guilt , fell into a suicidal state.

With Presea in custody, Fate, no longer under suspicion, decided to start a new life with Twilight as her younger sister with Twilight learning a major lesson from these events:

“Nopony deserves to be alone.”

Personality: The Twilight of “Magical Pony Lyrical Twilight” is pretty much the same as the Twilight of the MLP:FiM canon proper - a studious bookworm with a major thing for magic. With being a brainy pony, Twilight tends to be incredibly stubborn in her actions, as evident in her initial usage of Raising Heart, considering her nothing more than just an object and completely confused as to why its attacks were so weak. As before, instead of fighting the instinct, she does much better when she accepts it. On the other hand, Twilight is quite stubborn about certain wrongs inflicted on others, especially when it came from Chrono withholding information they kinda-sorta needed that moment about the objects they desire.

A major characteristic of Twilight that separates her from the character she’s replacing, Nanoha Takamachi, is her reliance on friends. Nanoha is a major workaholic, to the point where she canonically nearly crippled herself after overexerting herself. Twilight is the same way, however, as she has Spike and the other ponies of the Mane Six with her, she easily finds balance between work and pleasure. As well, Nanoha went through her adventures alone, as per usual most magical girl stories. Twilight, on the other hand, had friends and allies up the wazoo. This lead to a much more happier (if it can be called that with what happened with Presea) ending for all.

The adventure also forced Twilight to develop a more aggressive stance, something that caught her off-guard. As she told Yuuno, she had no reason to even think up of a magical offensive spell, more or less use one. By the time the adventure was over, Twilight had not only developed a number of spells, both offensive and defensive, but had also learned hoof-to-hoof combat and staff combat training. Battling the Jewel Seed monsters, Fate and Presea had shown Twilight that expecting everything to be hunky-dory with friendship and kindness wasn’t going to cut it. Sometimes, you needed to have to take action in a way that would usually be unbecoming of them.

The alterations to canon also allowed Twilight to reach out a lot more to Fate than Nanoha could ever do. Driven by her own initial solitude, Twilight wanted to reach out and help Fate, though it wasn’t until Celestia shattered Fate’s old worldview and forced her to see that her current lifestyle was utterly unhealthy that Twilight reached the young filly. This would lead to Fate becoming her adopted sister and Twilight developing something of a Big Sister Instinct.

Strengths: Protective of friends and family
Intelligent in both smarts and magic
Quick-thinking
Stubborn to a point
Knows when to stop working
Weaknesses: Beats herself up when things go wrong
Tends to be something of a hardworker
Stubborn to a point
Possessions: Raising Heart - an Intelligent Device once in Yuuno’s possession. However, when Twilight took possession of it, it tuned itself to work for her instead. In its “Standby Mode”, it’s a small red jewel that is worn on a necklace. In its device mode, it takes the form of a white staff with a gold staff head. When in its Shooting Mode, the staff head turns into a tuning fork-like device. When Twilight sets up, it clothes her in a Barrier Jacket, which is essentially magical clothing. Where Nanoha’s Barrier Jacket was designed around her schoolgirl uniform, Twilight’s was based off of her Grand Galloping Gala dress.

Raising Heart is linked to Twilight’s Linker Core (which is said to be a “gland” of sorts where magic is stored in Nanoha canon) and is able to help her use spells. Like canon, Twilight has the same spells that Nanoha used - Protection (a barrier), Flyer Fin (wings for flight), Ring Bind (a capture spell), Wide Area Search (a seeking spell) Bind Break (a spell to defeat binding spells), Divine Shooter (a standard energy attack), Divine Buster (a powerful burst attack) and Starlight Breaker (a huge freakin’ beam of energy). However, Twilight developed a few others as derivatives of those spells - Divine Shooter - Pulse Shot (machine gun-like attack), Divine Shooter - Counter Shot (defensive attack to shoot projectiles), and Motion Bind (Ring Bind + Flyer Fin to capture and lift opponents),
Pony/Animal Type: Unicorn

Third Person: Twilight couldn’t help but blink as she looked around Ponyville. It LOOKED like Ponyville. SOUNDED like Ponyville, but everything else just felt… different. It wasn’t her Ponyville. She realized that when she felt the sudden wave of magic that permeated here. It wasn’t just unicorn magic here, there were other types and they certainly wasn’t Mid-Childian, either. Friendly magic, evil magic, magic of destruction and healing… what was this place and what’s going on?

“I hate to say this, but I don’t think I’m in Ponyville anymore.” Twilight said. Sighing, she lifted up the red jeweled pendant around her neck. “Raising Heart, I think I’m gonna need some help. Wide Area Search, please. I want to see what is around here.”

[AFFIRMATIVE. WIDE AREA SEARCH] the jewel chimed in, creating a few orbs and sending them out. From her mind’s eye, Twilight could see places that weren’t there in her Ponyville, faces she’d never seen before. And why were some of her friends in multiple places at once? And did she see herself with wings?!

“I don’t like this one bit. But, until we can figure out what’s going on, we can’t be too suspicious of everyone.” Twilight said. “Hopefully I can get back before everypony back home panics. I don’t think Fate would like the idea of me disappearing so soon after what we’ve been through.”
